The Compass Magazine’s board of directors is composed of laypeople who are committed to encouraging, educating, and empowering fellow Seventh-day Adventists by upholding the Advent Movement’s prophetic voice and affirming sound scriptural instruction. The board guides the website’s mission and purpose and provides oversight for magazine staff.

Steve is a medical doctor employed in the managed care industry. He has maintained an active interest in theological topics throughout his life, especially as they impact a changing Western culture. Steve has served in various volunteer positions and as a lay pastor in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He resides in Centerville, Ohio.
Steve has had a 30-year career in business management and law. He works in the long-term care industry and currently runs two nursing homes. A lifelong Seventh-day Adventist, he is committed to advancing the mission and teachings of the church as a lay member. He resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Hernan is a medical doctor, a psychiatrist specializing in treating and preventing clergy burnout. He lives in Columbus, Ohio.
In his nearly three decades as an Adventist, Skip Dodson has served as a local church pastor, a college dean, and also in the business world in healthcare administration. He is currently a self-supporting missionary in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, working in construction management.
