From ISIS to Israel-Palestine conflict, religious animosities continue to destabilize the world. The retired Israeli President Shimon Peres sees a “United Nations of Religions” led by the pope as the possible solution. During his 45-minute meeting with Pope Francis, Peres cited the religious root of many modern conflicts.
The Associated Press reported: “Peres told the Catholic publication Famiglia Cristiana that the U.N. is ill-suited to handle today’s conflicts and that a ‘U.N. of Religions’ is the best way to fight terrorists who kill in the name of God.”
