LA City Files a Lawsuit Against Glendale Adventist Hospital

The Glendale Adventist hospital has been sued by the City of Los Angeles for “dumping mentally ill and disabled homeless patients on L.A.’s skid row over the last four years.”  The hospital is accused of having “improperly transported elderly and dependent patients to the downtown Los Angeles neighborhood, a 50-block area ‘known for extreme poverty, homelessness, rampant sale and use of illegal drugs and violent crime.'”

Although the hospital disagrees with the lawsuit, it comes on the heels of another report of such an incident earlier this year at an unnamed hospital in the area. Glendale Adventist Medical Center and the city are said to have entered “settlement negotiations.”
